Brazilian teenager Luis Guto Miguel is one win away from a major junior milestone at Roland Garros.

The 17-year-old has reached the boys’ singles final in Paris, where he is set to face Michael Antonius after a five-match run through the draw.

It gives Brazil another junior tennis story during the same Roland Garros fortnight in which João Fonseca’s influence has been connected to Miguel’s progress.

Arriving as the No. 1 seed, Miguel has beaten Hyu Kawanishi, Ryan Cozad, Nicolas Baena, Thilo Behrmann and Leonardo Storck Franca to reach the final against Michael Antonius.

His semi-final win was the hardest part of that route. He beat fellow Brazilian Storck Franca 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 to earn his place in the final.

The run is backed by his wider junior record. Miguel is a Brazilian born on February 26, 2009, ranked No. 4 in the junior standings on June 1, 2026, with a 15-2 junior singles record in 2026.

The link to Fonseca should be handled carefully. Miguel is not being judged as the next version of anyone, but the timing makes the comparison clear.

He is now a 17-year-old Brazilian with the chance to repeat a João Fonseca feat in the Roland Garros junior final.

That wider context has followed him in Paris, where Miguel has been framed as riding Fonseca energy during his run at Roland Garros.

That is the cleanest way to view this final. Miguel has already produced a significant junior run, and victory would make the Fonseca comparison more direct.
