Los Angeles Lakers’ Busy Offseason Draws Encouraging Review From Luka Doncic’s Father

The Los Angeles Lakers are among the busiest teams this offseason as they continue building around Luka Doncic following LeBron James’ departure. During a recent interview with Mozzart Sport, Sasa Doncic, Luka’s dad, is among those who are curious about how the team will fare this upcoming season.

“They were there (Slovenia minicamp), they had a crazy and unforgettable time, at least that’s what they say. I don’t know, time will tell how it will be. I can’t wait to see what happens. My focus is honestly on Ilirija, but of course I support the Lakers because of Luka, and whether Rob Pelinka has built a good team, we’ll see,” the older Doncic stated.

This summer, the Los Angeles Lakers parted ways with Deandre Ayton, Rui Hachimura, Jaxson Hayes, Luke Kennard, Marcus Smart, and LeBron James. In return, they added Quentin Grimes, Jaden Hardy, Walker Kessler, Kevon Looney, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Collin Sexton, Matisse Thybulle, and Ziaire Williams while re-signing Austin Reaves to a new four-year contract.

As Sasa mentioned, Luka held a minicamp in Slovenia for his Los Angeles Lakers teammates to prepare for the 2026-27 campaign, and the fans couldn’t help but notice the 27-year-old star’s svelte physique.

Luka Doncic seems to feel good about the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, calling the team “happy” during a recent sit-down interview.

“First of all, shoutout to Luka (Doncic). I think the organization was amazing, the way they planned everything,” Sandro Mamukelashvili said during an interview with ESPN LA. “They showed us a lot of great places, Ljubljana is a really, really nice city.”

“Plus, you know, it was great for the new team. It’s a lot of, a bunch of, new guys on the team, and all of us being together, it didn’t even feel like it was a lot of new guys. We all gelled really well, everybody was very positive. I’m super excited for the season, because I see how excited everybody is,” he added.
