The Los Angeles Dodgers have enjoyed a dream run on the field for the last two seasons. The team has a chance to win their third consecutive World Series title this year.

With all this success, Mark Walter and the ownership have received a lot of love from fans. But things are turning sour quickly, after it was redported that Walter is under federal investigation over dubious loans.

Walter has sold his stake in the LA Lakers, and is in talks to sell off his share in soccer club Chelsea FC, too. Naturally, this led to fears the Dodgers might be next, but the team president is trying to allay those concerns.

According to reports, Walter could be liable for around $20 billion if the claim regarding undisclosed loans is true. The Dodgers are estimated to be worth around $8 billion as a franchise.

With online speculation suggesting that Walter will have to move on from his prized MLB asset, team president Stan Kasten has weighed in on the subject, trying to calm fans down.

“The Dodgers are not being sold. They’re not for sale. There’s no process that has been started to sell it, period,” Kasten told the media. “We are planning only to win.

“I know nothing involving the Dodgers is part of the investigation… I think Mark has done an extraordinary job as an owner.

“And all he’s ever cared about is providing the best experience in order to make us more money, to make this project successful. I think so far it has been; I expect that to continue far into the future.”

This is a strong statement from Kasten considering that the outcome of the investigation is unknown as of now. Dodgers fans will be hoping this is true, this ownership has brought them incredible success.
