Longhorns Daily News: Former Texas DE Ethan Burke reportedly not interested in college return

A brief avalanche is underway after the NCAA moved to expand college eligibility to five full seasons.

Some former players are returning to college after facing limited prospects at the professional level.

Meanwhile, others are not. And that includes those who might potentially benefit from an extra year.

Among them is former Texas defensive end Ethan Burke, who was signed by the Baltimore Ravens after going undrafted a few months back. According to a recent 247Sports report, Burke’s father claims his son remains committed to pursuing his dreams in the NFL. “Ethan’s totally focused on becoming a Baltimore Raven,” Zack Burke told 247Sports earlier this weekend. “Some schools have reached out to Ethan’s agent about possibly returning to college, but that’s not even on the table. Ethan wants to be in Baltimore. That’s where our family is, and it’s a great NFL opportunity for Ethan.”

Burke will be missed, but we can’t help but wish him all the luck.
