Liverpool reject Nottingham Forest offer for Trey Nyoni

According to The Athletic, Nottingham Forest had made an offer to sign Trey Nyoni from Liverpool, but the Merseysiders rejected it without giving it any consideration as head coach Andoni Iraola sees the teenager as an important member of his squad and a part of the club’s future.

The offer consisted of £25 million straight up and another £5 million in the form of add-ons. However, Nyoni impressed Iraola sufficiently during pre-season and the former Bournemouth boss now has a place for him in the plans for the 2026-27 season.

Liverpool recently sold Curtis Jones to Inter Milan for £30 million and chose not to pursue a replacement, believing Nyoni was ready to step into the role himself.

The 19-year-old midfielder signed a new contract with Liverpool last summer and given his progress since, he’s already in line for another deal with improved terms. His performance in the 2-2 draw against Forest on Saturday was notably good, coming off the bench for the final 13 minutes of the match.
