Liverpool and Manchester United continue monitoring Spurs defender Micky van de Ven

According to CaughtOffside, both Liverpool and Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Micky van de Ven, although neither club has moved beyond the monitoring stage at this point.

The Tottenham Hotspur defender has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most highly regarded centre-backs since arriving from Wolfsburg in 2023. His pace, ability to defend large spaces and composure in possession have attracted the attention of several elite clubs.

Liverpool’s interest is said to be particularly significant. The report claims the Reds are already planning for the future as club captain Virgil van Dijk enters the later stages of his career, with Van de Ven viewed as a potential long-term successor on the left side of defence.

Manchester United are also monitoring the Dutch international as they continue assessing their defensive options. His Premier League experience, age and athletic profile are all considered attractive qualities.

However, Tottenham are in a strong negotiating position after recently extending Van de Ven’s contract until 2031. Spurs would likely demand between £80 million and £90 million, making any future move both difficult and expensive.
