Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown Makes Eye-Opening Jared Goff Admission
Detroit Lions star wide receiver Amon-ra St. Brown recently shared something that seemingly surprises him about quarterback Jared Goff.
St. Brown has been playing alongside Goff for years now, but he admitted that he doesn’t always realize the quarterback is under immense pressure when throwing the football.
“Half the time I don’t even know he’s getting hit when he’s throwing it … and I realize the next day watching tape that he got blasted. He’s as tough as they come,” St. Brown told reporters on Friday via 97.1 The Ticket.

Goff Has Been Steady in The Pocket For The Lions in 2026
For what it’s worth, Goff has been fairly protected in the pocket in the 2026 NFL season, at least based on the fact that he’s in the middle of the road in terms of sacks absorbed, with 17. Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Deshaun Watson tops the list entering Week 8 with 25 sacks.
Moreover, Goff has a 5.11 percent sack rate, below the league average of 6.3 percent.
The 32-year-old Goff will look to keep it going for the Lions’ offense this coming Sunday, when Detroit looks to sustain its post-bye week momentum.
The former No. 1 overall NFL draft pick has 1,788 passing yards and 14 touchdowns on a 67.3 percent pass completion rate.
Goff is also yet to get picked, and he’ll try to keep it that way, as the Lions face an NFC North rival this weekend.
Detroit will be the latest team to attempt to give the Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the season when they square off at Ford Field in Detroit for a Week 8 showdown.
