Linda Cohn addresses ‘rumblings’ she’s heard about Caitlin Clark trade

· · 2 min read

Linda Cohn has slammed the brakes on the Caitlin Clark trade rumours.

Caitlin Clark made it clear she isn’t jumping straight into signing that EPIC max extension just yet. She wants to see how the Fever shape their roster first, even openly pointing out that sometimes you have to make sacrifices to put a championship team together.

Despite social media running wild with trade rumors, she shut down any talk of leaving Indiana, insisting she’s committed to staying. For Clark, it isn’t about rushing into a deal, it’s about using her leverage to make sure the front office builds a real contender around her.

However, one question remains about Kelsey Mitchell’s future too.

Linda Cohn rubbishes Caitlin Clark trade rumours

As a legendary SportsCenter anchor and one of the most respected voices in broadcasting, Linda Cohn has always been firmly in Caitlin Clark‘s corner.

So when contract panic and trade rumors started showing themselves online, Cohn didn’t hesitate to step in, quiet the noise, and bring some real perspective to the whole situation.

On her YouTube channel, she said: “I don’t buy this idea that I mean just because she hasn’t committed to an extension that she’s somehow preparing to demand a trade. I’ve heard the rumblings. I’ve heard it on social media. There’s a big difference. There’s a big difference between keeping your options open, which I love, and wanting out. Like, put on the brakes. And I think Caitlin Clark gets it. She understands exactly where she stands here, but she needs more clarity.”

It’s hard to picture Caitlin Clark in anything other than a Fever jersey, as she’s the undisputed face of the franchise, and despite all the noise online.

Also, she squashed any drama by going out of her way to praise Stephanie White during her exit interview, highlighting White’s competitive drive and high standards, leaving no doubt that their connection is solid. Indiana is her team, and her heart is right there.
