Legend Of Zelda Switch 2 Console Restock Date Officially Confirmed
The Legend of Zelda’s 40th anniversary is about to draw to a monumental close with the release of the Ocarina of Time Remake on November 5. That game is going to bring one of the greatest games of all time back to the fore once again, and hopefully succeed in eliciting nostalgia from long-time fans, and excitement from those trying it for the first time.
Around its arrival, Nintendo has also brought out a series of additional releases that mark the occasion further, including the Pro Controller and Switch 2 Carrying Case emblazoned with the Triforce iconography. Not only that, but they also confirmed the release of a fully customized console, with a uniquely designed dock and joycons.
It looks very cool, and it has obviously been in very high demand from the outset, selling out everywhere before most had a chance to pick one up. Happily, we now have a date for the console’s return in online stores, and you don’t have too long to wait if you want to try your luck in getting one again.

As first reported by GameRant, BestBuy and Target have confirmed when they are expecting to have stock of the new console available for customers in-store and online. Target confirmed that shipments are on the way to them, and that its restocks of the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 system would be available on November 5 in stores and November 6 online.
Similarly, Best Buy confirmed that it would have restocks available in time for its Ocarina of Time midnight launch on November 5 at various retail locations. They didn’t state whether they were planning to make any available online, though they added that restocks of the Zelda-themed Switch 2 Pro Controller would also be available at the same midnight launch.
Nintendo themselves haven’t weighed in further on their plans for the console, and whether they are planning another run on their own stores. The same is true of other major US retailers, who remain quiet right now, after already having to cancel quite a few orders due to a limited amount of stock.
In a recent interview discussing the release, Bill van Zyll, Vice President and General Manager of Nintendo’s Latin America confirmed that they weren’t expecting the console to be as popular as it is, and that has left them short of stock everywhere.
“It’s a global phenomenon; we have this issue everywhere,” van Zyll told YouTube channel Coelho no Japão, “We apologize for that. That certainly wasn’t the intent. We underestimated how well it would be received and there are certainly some markets that stand out” – before going on to explicitly mention North America as one of those markets.
He then went on to confirm that more is on the way at some point, saying, “We are working on replenishment of the special hardware and software, but it’ll take a little bit of time. Please be patient.”
Either way, it sounds like Best Buy and Target won’t be the last places in the United States that fans will be able to pick up their own Legend of Zelda Switch 2. If you don’t manage to get one there, just sit tight and more opportunities should crop up in relatively short order.
