LAYNE RIGGS IS COMING FOR THE TRUCK SERIES TITLE — KADEN HONEYCUTT’S 43-POINT CUSHION HAS VANISHED!

Kaden Honeycutt looked like he had a comfortable path to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship heading into Martinsville. Now, after one unbelievable night, Layne Riggs has turned the title fight into a full-blown showdown.

Riggs entered Martinsville trailing Honeycutt by 43 points. After finishing third while Honeycutt struggled to a 14th-place result, Riggs walked away having gained 23 points in a single race. The championship gap is now just 20 points with one race remaining.

Think about that. Honeycutt had a 43-point advantage, and now one more performance like that from Riggs could completely flip the championship.

The Martinsville race was a massive opportunity for Riggs, who led 156 laps and swept both stages before losing the lead to teammate Chandler Smith on the final restart. Even without getting the victory, he made huge progress in the championship battle.

Now everything comes down to Homestead.

Honeycutt still controls his own destiny and has the points advantage, but there is no room to get comfortable. Riggs has all the momentum after making up 23 points in one night, and he knows exactly what is at stake.
