Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) has announced the Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise for the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
The exercise is for candidates of Lagos State origin who chose LASUED as first choice during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations and scored at least 185.
LASUED Indigeneship Verification Registration Date
Online registration will start on Monday, 18 May 2026.
The portal will close on Sunday, 14 June 2026; candidates who meet the rule on Lagos State origin and UTME score should register within this period.
Verification Interview Date
The verification interview will run for four weeks.
It will start on Monday, 1 June 2026, and end on Thursday, 25 June 2026.

Documents Needed for LASUED Indigeneship Verification
Candidates must present the required documents for the exercise.
LASUED stated that the letter must come strictly from an Oba.
How to Apply for LASUED Indigeneship Verification
Candidates should make payment to the Lagos State University of Education account online.
Applicants should use only the approved payment route.
Interview Venue
The interview will hold at Senator Oluremi Tinubu Hall of the University.
Candidates should go there for the verification interview as scheduled.
General Notes for Candidates
Only candidates of Lagos State origin are eligible for the screening.
Such candidates must receive clearance from the LASUED Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee before LASUED can consider them for admission.
The exercise does not guarantee admission.
It also does not serve as proof of admission into Lagos State University of Education.
Note for Old Applicants and Direct Entry Candidates
Old applicants for the 2025/2026 academic session who have not gained admission will only revalidate their Indigeneship Clearance Certificates at the same venue.
All Direct Entry applicants of Lagos State origin must also take part in the Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise before they can be considered for admission.
Payment Warning
LASUED warned applicants not to pay money to any individual, other account, or through any other means aside from the approved link.
Any applicant who does so carries the risk.
Only candidates who scored 185 and above in the 2026 UTME can apply.
