LASU commences Distribution of Smart ID cards to 2024/25 Admitted students

The Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola OLATUNJI-BELLO, mni, NPOM, in furtherance of her promise to ensure flexible use of services through digitisation, has approved the immediate distribution of the newly produced Smart Identification (ID) Cards, to full-time undergraduate students admitted in the 2024/2025 academic session. 

The sophisticated and stylish Smart ID Card will serve dual purposes: as an identity card and a payment card. It will provide holders with seamless access to academic and financial services. The Smart Identification Card will also be used for access control, facilitating authentication across LASU premises.

The Smart ID Card will enable holders to perform transactions seamlessly at ATMs, Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, and online.

Other benefits of the Smart ID Card include the prevention of identity fraud/theft and critical protection of holders’ data.

The Vice-Chancellor therefore directs all students to visit their respective Faculties/Schools to collect their Smart ID Cards.
