Lagos Has Focused On Policies That Only Favour The Elite In Last 20 Years — Rhodes-Vivour
The Lagos State governorship candidate of the Africa Democratic Party (ADC), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has accused the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of creating policies that focused on the elite for over two decades rather than on residents in rural communities.
Rhodes-Vivour stated this at the governorship debate organised by the Nigeria Debate Consortium in Lagos on Sunday.
According to him, Lagos celebrates high IGR, yet people are not experiencing it.
He, however, said that the ADC government’s policies would focus on the suffering residents of the state.
The governorship candidate pledged to introduce over 100,00 housing units and make them accessible to all.
Speaking further, he said that his administration would make the state safer and cleaner for residents if elected in the 2027 general elections.
He said that, under his administration, flooding would no longer be a problem as the government would initiate technology-driven policies that would allow people to live in a safer environment.
“All of us are experiencing the damage that has come from bad governance that has been endemic in this state for the last 20 years,” he said.
“We want a cleaner Lagos. We want a safer Lagos. We want a safer Lagos. We want a more affordable Lagos, and we want a Lagos that works for everybody, not just the privileged few.”
