Lagos and FG launch morning feeding initiative for primary pupils

A key highlight of the launch was the unveiling of the Adopt-A-School Digital Dashboard, an innovative accountability engine developed to democratise corporate and individual philanthropic contributions.

Through this portal, corporate organisations, non-governmental organisations, faith-based bodies, and Nigerians in the diaspora can directly select and sponsor a specific classroom, school, or local government area.

The dashboard tracks food delivery metrics in real time to ensure transparency.

The National Programme Manager of the Renewed Hope NHGSFP, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, explained that Lagos was chosen for the official national launch because of its consistent leadership in institutional reforms.

She clarified that the initiative provides nutritious breakfast snacks and beverages before classes to directly tackle classroom hunger, improve concentration, boost attendance, and enhance overall learning outcomes.

The state government expanded the scope of the launch by integrating it into Governor Sanwo-Olu’s socio-educational THEMES Plus Agenda.

Beyond receiving daily food portions, the participating children are being provided with critical learning supplies, including tablets, school bags, snack boxes, water bottles, insulated flasks, and notebooks.

Mrs Salu-Hundeyin extended an open invitation to the international community, corporate organisations, and philanthropic individuals to join the partnership.

She noted that the state’s doors remain wide open to any entity willing to adopt a school, emphasising that providing an enabling environment for the next generation is a collective national responsibility.
