Kolo Muani not facing spell out after hand surgery

Juventus have confirmed Randal Kolo Muani will remain available for selection after undergoing surgery on a fractured finger.

Kolo Muani played 89 minutes on Saturday as the Bianconeri returned to winning ways in Serie A, beating Atalanta 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium.

He played on despite sustaining an injury to his right hand, and though the issue required surgery, reports in Italy said he would return to training with Juve within a couple of days.

A statement released on Juve’s website said: “During the first half of Sunday’s match against Atalanta, Randal Kolo Muani sustained an injury to the fifth finger of his right hand. 

“Tests carried out after the match revealed a fracture of the proximal phalanx, making osteosynthesis surgery necessary.

“The operation, performed this afternoon by Dr Loris Pegoli, was completely successful and the player will remain available for selection.”

Kolo Muani has appeared in all six of the Bianconeri’s matches in all competitions this season, starting five of those and recording one goal and two assists in 468 minutes.

He was not selected in Zinedine Zidane’s first France squad ahead of their Nations League fixtures against Turkiye, Belgium and Italy, so will continue training with his club ahead of Juve facing Cagliari on October 11.
