Knicks coach Mike Brown randomly busts out 2000 pop song on media day

Mike Brown is preparing the New York Knicks for their first NBA Finals appearance in 27 years. The head coach addressed reporters during Tuesday’s media day ahead of Game 1 and showed a lot of enthusiasm.

In the middle of his presser, Brown surprised media members by singing the 2000 pop song “Who Let The Dogs Out” by Baha Men. He shared that he used to coach children’s flag football in San Antonio, and that playing the song was his way of hyping the parents in attendance.

Brown highlighted that his experience in San Antonio helped his defensive philosophy in basketball.

Brown appeared relaxed and enjoyed the moment. However, he’s expected to be focused starting in Game 1 on Wednesday at Frost Bank Center.

Brown guided the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Finals in 2007. It was their first championship series appearance, and his team lost via a sweep. He has a chance to avenge the defeat by leading the Knicks to the title against the Spurs, which is the same franchise that swept them 19 years ago.

New York finished the regular season with a 53-29 record and secured the Eastern Conference’s No. 3 seed. The Knicks are entering the Finals with a lot of momentum after winning eight consecutive playoff games.

Brown’s experience will be key in winning it all. He aims end New York’s NBA title drought and bring home the Larry O’Brien Trophy to the city’s passionate fans.
