Kentucky Wildcats News: Tennessee Gameday

· · 2 min read

Good morning, BBN!

The Kentucky Wildcats are headed to Knoxville for a massive SEC showdown against the Tennessee Volunteers, with College Football Playoff implications on the line.

Will Stein’s Wildcats enter the matchup at 7-1, riding a six-game winning streak and sitting at No. 6 in the initial CFP rankings. Tennessee, meanwhile, enters at 6-2 and No. 13 after a disappointing loss to South Carolina.

One of the biggest storylines this week has been Tennessee’s quarterback situation. Head coach Josh Heupel has refused to name a starter publicly, despite George MacIntyre starting the last three games after replacing five-star freshman Faizon Brandon.

MacIntyre has struggled with turnovers, including a costly late fumble against South Carolina, raising questions about the offense as a whole.

This is probably the most anticipated Kentucky-Tennessee football matchup we’ve seen, maybe ever. It’s not necessarily a “must-win”, but it sure would be sweet. What do you think? Will the Cats pull it out?
