The Kebbi State Government has dismissed claims by the opposition that some communities in the state have been abandoned to bandits and terrorists, describing the allegations as misleading and inaccurate.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris, said the government remains fully committed to protecting lives and property across the state.

He explained that security operations are highly sensitive and that not every strategy, intelligence-gathering effort, or operational activity can be disclosed publicly.

According to the statement, the absence of public announcements on security measures should not be interpreted as a lack of action, stressing that Governor Nasir Idris is actively leading the state’s response to insecurity in collaboration with security agencies and other critical stakeholders.

The government said its efforts are aimed at restoring peace and ensuring residents can carry out their lawful activities without fear, while enabling farmers to safely access their farmlands.

The statement further urged political actors to avoid using security challenges as political talking points, noting that tackling insecurity requires cooperation, intelligence sharing, strategic planning, and confidentiality.

The Kebbi State Government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting security agencies and deploying all constitutional means to achieve lasting peace, security, stability, and sustainable development across the state.
