Kaduna State University (KASU) is set to train its non-teaching staff on the implementation of the Employee Performance Management Appraisal System (EPMAS), a new framework designed to improve employee performance and productivity across the state.

The university disclosed this in a circular dated August 7, 2026, signed by its Registrar, Samira Balarabe, Esq.

According to the circular, the step-down training is being organised in line with the directive and schedule of the Office of the Head of Service, Kaduna State, following the planned implementation of EPMAS across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.

The new appraisal system is expected to replace the existing Employee Performance Appraisal process with a more structured performance management framework based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and measurable work targets.

The training for all non-teaching staff of the university is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the 1,000-Seater Lecture Theatre, KASU, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Registrar directed heads of colleges, faculties, departments and units to ensure that all staff under their supervision attend the training as scheduled.

The circular emphasised that attendance is mandatory, warning that disciplinary measures would be taken against staff who refuse to participate in the training.

The university management urged all concerned staff to cooperate with the implementation of the new appraisal system.
