The time has come for Karim López to make his Grizzlies‘ debut.

López — the No. 21 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft — has not played in summer league as he works his way back from a mild left hamstring strain that he sustained during the pre-draft process. He’s set to play in the Grizzlies’ game against the Hawks on July 16 (7 p.m., Prime Video), according to a team spokesperson.

The Grizzlies can still make it to the semifinals of summer league with a win and other results elsewhere. Both Cam Boozer and Cedric Coward will be available, and Memphis is choosing to stick with their top players even as plenty of teams have shut down their stars after a few games.

Olivier-Maxence Prosper is back after missing the previous game with a back injury, while Walter Clayton Jr. (mild right knee sprain) remains out.

López, 19, was the first-ever Mexican-born first round NBA draft pick. He played with the New Zealand Breakers of the NBL before entering the draft. The 6-foot-9, 225-pounder averaged 11.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game during the 2025-26 season.
