Juventus targets late move for Ligue 1 midfielder

· · 2 min read

Juventus are back in the running to sign Pierre-Emile Højbjerg from Olympique Marseille during this transfer window, with just a few hours remaining, and they want to add one more midfielder, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Midfield remains a weak spot in their team, and although they have added at least one new player to that area, missing out on Franck Kessie has made it difficult for the Bianconeri to cope. The Ivorian was a top player, and Juventus may need more than one midfielder to fill the role he would have played in their squad.

That is why they are considering another addition before the window closes. Juventus have only hours to finalise their summer business, meaning the Old Lady will have to work quickly if they want to complete another late signing.

Juventus revive Højbjerg interest

Højbjerg could now become one of their final additions. The former Tottenham midfielder was close to joining Newcastle United this summer after Marseille agreed to sell him, but he ultimately opted against making the move.

The situation is encouraging for Juventus because it shows that Marseille are open to allowing the midfielder to leave. The French club would therefore appear willing to consider another proposal if the right offer arrives.

For Juventus, the challenge will be convincing Højbjerg to accept the move. The midfielder had the opportunity to leave Marseille for Newcastle but decided against it, meaning his preference will be crucial in determining whether the Bianconeri can complete a deal.

Juventus face late decision

Højbjerg appears settled in France and may not want to move his family again, which could make negotiations more complicated. Juventus must therefore determine whether they can offer enough to persuade him to make another change so late in the transfer window.

The Bianconeri need midfield reinforcements after failing to secure Kessie, and Højbjerg would provide experience in an area where they need greater depth.

With only a few hours left, Juventus have very little time to make their case. Marseille are clearly open to his departure, but the decisive factor could be whether Højbjerg is willing to leave France and join the Old Lady at this late stage.
