Juventus renews Rayan Aït-Nouri contact over potential January loan

Juventus has renewed contact with Rayan Aït-Nouri over a possible January loan from Manchester City, according to Filippo Cornacchia of La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian club is revisiting an option explored in August as the left-back struggles for playing time under Enzo Maresca.

The 25-year-old has not played in the Premier League this season, with just 105 minutes across the Champions League and Carabao Cup, according to Gazzetta.

Juventus favors a loan, possibly with a purchase option, leaving a permanent decision until the summer.

Aït-Nouri’s contract gives City considerable control over his future. He signed a five-year agreement through the summer of 2030 when he arrived from Wolves in June 2025, so there is no approaching expiry forcing the club to consider an exit.

His attacking record helps explain the appeal. City highlighted his four goals and seven Premier League assists in his final Wolves season when announcing his arrival. That production offers Juventus a reason to look beyond his limited opportunities this term, particularly if Spalletti wants more threat from the left flank.

Wolves also noted his 157 appearances across five seasons when he left. Its farewell credited the attacking freedom of a wing-back role with helping him establish himself as a regular.

There was also a deadline-day inquiry from Manchester United, reported by Ben Jacobs. City kept Aït-Nouri, with Fabrizio Romano reporting at the time that it would not sanction his departure. That summer stance remains relevant to any renewed approach in January.

Gazzetta reports renewed contact and a possible loan structure, with no submitted bid or agreement between the clubs. Aït-Nouri’s minutes after the international break could influence whether Juventus has a realistic opportunity to take the discussions further.
