Juventus CEO Carnevali confirms interest in Martinez, Sorloth and Kolo Muani

Juventus chief executive Giovanni Carnevali has admitted the club are interested in signing Emiliano Martinez and Alexander Sorloth, while they are also “working” to bring Randal Kolo Muani back to Turin.

The Bianconeri missed out on Champions League football last season as they finished sixth in Serie A, having only won one of their final five games of the campaign.

They have chosen to stick with Luciano Spalletti as their head coach for 2026-27, but a major overhaul of their squad is likely as they aim to put themselves in Scudetto contention. 

Juventus have not won Serie A since 2019-20, when Maurizio Sarri was their head coach and Cristiano Ronaldo was their leading scorer with 31 goals.

That was their ninth league title in a row, but since then, their best finish was third in 2024-25 and they have placed outside the top four on two occasions.

One of the players strongly linked with a move to Turin is Aston Villa’s Europa League-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, whose hopes of winning a second World Cup are still alive after Argentina’s stunning comeback win over Egypt in the last 16 on Tuesday.

And Carnevali has told Sky Sports Italia that Juve are one of several clubs hoping to do a deal for Martinez, saying: “We will have to wait. 

“Martinez interests us, but he’s also an interesting profile for a lot of other teams. 

“There will be lots of opportunities. There are players who are already rated highly and those who we should keep a close eye on.”

Juve are also in the market for a new striker after seeing Dusan Vlahovic depart as a free agent, and Carnevali has revealed Atletico Madrid man Sorloth is among their options.

“The doors aren’t only open for Sorloth, but also for other players,” he said when asked about Juve’s attacking targets.

Sorloth scored 20 goals in 54 appearances for Atletico Madrid – only 26 of which were starts – across all competitions last season (not including the Club World Cup), the joint-most of any player for the club alongside Julian Alvarez.

And another option in the forward areas is Kolo Muani, who was previously on loan at Juve from Paris Saint-Germain in 2025, scoring 10 goals in 22 outings.

Since that loan spell, Kolo Muani has also had a temporary stint at Tottenham, where he made 41 appearances but only managed five goals as the club narrowly avoided a humiliating relegation from the Premier League.

And Juve are actively working on a deal to bring him back, with Carnevali saying: “For Kolo Muani, the demands have not been lowered, and we have not increased the proposal, but we are working hard on it.

“I wouldn’t just focus on him. If there is a big gap [in valuation], we have to make the right assessments. We’re trying to do the best thing.”
