Judge stops Trump from sacking James Comey's daughter

A Federal judge in New York, Jesse Furman, has ruled against President Donald Trump and the Justice Department over the firing of Maurene Comey.

DAILY POST reports that Maurene Comey, daughter of former Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, Director, James Comey, was fired from the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

The judge said the Justice Department had no legal basis to sack Maurene Comey and ordered that her sack be reversed.

Maurene Comey is a top prosecutor in the Southern District of New York, SDNY, office that is handling many high-profile cases against Trump allies.

President Trump had ordered her sack after accusing the Comey family of witch-hunt.

The ruling is seen as a big blow to President Trump.
