Via Pete Thamel of ESPN, Judge William Jorden has converted a temporary restraining order into an injunction. More than 40 athletes now have both NCAA and SEC eligibility.

The ruling allows multiple potential players who spent time on 90-man NFL rosters to join LSU for the 2026 season.

The deadline for adding them to the roster arrives on Friday. If LSU goes through with it, the SEC will undoubtedly look for avenues to respond, perhaps very aggressively, to the move.

The SEC reportedly has considered “extreme measures” against LSU if it welcomes former NFL players — up to and including expulsion from the conference. On Thursday, the SEC filed a federal lawsuit aimed at preventing LSU from signing former pro players.
