Jorheny Rodriguez leads Garfield to win over rival Lodi

GARFIELD – Garfield running back Jorheny Rodriguez had four touchdowns including a helmet-ripping four-yard score to lead the Boilermakers past rival Lodi 38-0 on Oct. 2.

The win sets up a showdown between the Boilermakers (5-1) and Becton for the NJIC Colonial title Oct. 9.

After starting 4-0, the Rams have lost two in a row. They played against the Boilermakers without standout quarterback Emran Qasemi, who was seen with a brace on his knee in warm-ups.

Rodriguez opened the scoring with a four-yard TD run when he appeared to knock off a Lodi players helmet, then briefly held the helmet in his fingers before crossing the goal line.Check back soon for more.
