Jimmie Johnson joins TNT Sports as NASCAR analyst in 2026
Jimmie Johnson is joining TNT Sports. Johnson will contribute to TNT Sports’ coverage from Sonoma Raceway (June 28), North Wilkesboro Speedway (July 19), and Indianapolis Motor Speedway (July 26) as a studio analyst. That is three of TNT Sports’ five races during the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season.
“Joining TNT Sports is an opportunity that truly energizes me,” Johnson said in a press release. “NASCAR has given me so much throughout my career, and getting the chance to share that passion from a new perspective alongside a fantastic team of NASCAR legends is something I’m really looking forward to. TNT Sports has a long history of bringing fans closer to the action, and I’m excited to help deliver that same level of insight, intensity, and fun as part of their NASCAR coverage.”
Johnson has done work with NBC Sports in the past, so this isn’t an unusual atmosphere for him. Most recently, Johnson ran two NASCAR races at San Diego in the Cup and Truck Series. Now, the seven-time Cup Series champion is trading a wheel for a microphone.
