Gabriel Jesus’ four-year stay at Arsenal has come to an end after the Brazilian completed his permanent switch to LaLiga champions Barcelona on deadline day.
Jesus, who was also of interest to Napoli, Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Everton this summer, has signed a three-year contract for a reported €10m (£8.6m) transfer fee.
The 29-year-old was entering the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium after helping Arsenal end their 22-year wait for the Premier League title last season.
He has made 123 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal since joining from Manchester City for £45m, but has struggled with injuries throughout his time at the club.
Jesus was limited to just 27 appearances in 2025-26, scoring six goals and providing one assist, with Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres preferred in the striker position.
Since joining Arsenal in 2022, Jesus registered 50 goal involvements (32 goals, 18 assists) in all competitions, a total only bettered by Havertz (54), Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard (both 67), Martin Odegaard (71) and Bukayo Saka (105) in that time for the Gunners.
He becomes Barcelona’s third signing from a Premier League club this summer, following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United and Rodri from Manchester City.

Barcelona have been keen to sign a striker this summer after allowing Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres to join the Chicago Fire and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively.
Julian Alvarez is a reported target for Arsenal and Barcelona, but the Argentine looks set to stay at Atletico Madrid after being pictured training with the LaLiga side on Monday.
Jesus’ exit is another outgoing on deadline day for Arsenal, with the Gunners confirming that Fabio Vieira had joined Hamburg on a permanent transfer earlier in the day.
It has also been reported that Ethan Nwaneri, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Marseille, is close to joining Borussia Dortmund for the 2026-27 campaign.
