“Jerry Jones Is Now Drinking Milk Instead of Vodka”: Rob Parker Claims Cowboys GM Has Lost His Fire, Tolerating Ineptitude of Brian Schottenheimer’s Team
The Dallas Cowboys broke an unwanted record on Sunday, losing for the first time at home after leading by 14 points against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals also maintained their unbeaten streak at AT&T Stadium, logging their fifth win there since the venue opened in 2009.
As several critics called out the team’s effort in the monumental collapse, radio host Rob Parker took the opportunity to blast Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for losing his competitive fire. During his daily radio show on Fox Sports Radio, Parker said:
“Jerry should hang it up. Jerry should just go home. No, no, seriously. Because, like, there used to be a fire in him that would not be acceptable, but just to sit there and go, what a shame. And they lost to Tampa Bay. They lost, like, the division is sitting there. And I brought that, you know, we talked about that a couple of weeks ago. But Jerry’s reaction to me, Jerry is now drinking milk now instead of vodka.”
The Cowboys avoided disaster early in the game when running back Javonte Williams fumbled the ball in the end zone, but backup tight end James Mitchell recovered it, putting six points on the board.
However, in the fourth quarter, quarterback Gardner Minshew II was unstoppable, throwing three touchdowns to Tyler Allgeier, Trey McBride, and Michael Wilson, respectively, to complete an 11-point halftime comeback.
Mike LaFleur Refuses to Name Starting QB For Week 9
While Gardner Minshew II led the team to a historic comeback after the team subbed out Jacoby Brissett amid a disappointing performance, head coach Mike LaFleur refused to reveal who will start at QB in Week 9 against the Seahawks.
During his postgame conference, LaFleur said:
“I know what the story is going to be and so does (Jacoby).”
LaFleur also spoke on the team’s mentality to keep fighting after a difficult first half, saying:
“You got to applaud the fellas in this locker room for fighting, the defense for getting a stop, and then the offense obviously getting us into range when we needed to there in overtime. We go have a chance to redeem ourselves and knock it down. I think that’s a testament to the guys that we have in this locker room, which is the most cliché thing you can say, but it’s not cliché when it’s true, right?”
After improving to 3-5, the Cardinals will face the Seattle Seahawks, who lost to the Chicago Bears in a blowout on Monday Night Football.
