Jerry Jones Gets Shocking Roster Proposal From Daughter of Cowboys’ Legendary ‘Triplet’

The Dallas Cowboys are in a desperate defensive crisis. Sitting at 2-2, the team’s defense ranks at number 30. Owner Jerry Jones says he is actively looking for trades before the deadline.

However, a shocking new roster solution just came from within the family of a franchise icon. Skylar Smith, daughter of legendary running back Emmitt Smith, took to social media to tell Jones exactly who to sign.

The viral comment follows a rough stretch for the Dallas defense. The unit currently ranks 30th in total defense, giving up 389.5 yards per game, and 31st against the run at 150.2 yards.

While they managed to beat the Houston Texans in Week 4, they still surrendered 397 yards and an alarming 7.6 yards per play, including eight passing plays of over 20 yards. First-year defensive coordinator Christian Parker is the youngest coordinator in franchise history at age 34. However, he is already facing intense scrutiny for the flop show.

NFL Network analyst Gerald McCoy, a former Cowboys defensive tackle, told the Dan Patrick Show that the front office added the pieces but Parker has not turned them into a functioning defense.

Emmitt Smith originally posted the classic photo with the caption, “A force to be reckoned with.” Skylar commented on the nostalgic post, “Bring em back!! We need y’all’s help!!”

Smith, Aikman, and Irvin famously formed the core of the legendary 1990s “Triplets,” the offensive trio that brought three Super Bowl titles to Dallas. All three are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and have been retired for more than two decades. Smith remains the NFL’s all-time leading rusher with 18,355 yards, while Aikman threw for 32,942 yards and Irvin racked up 11,904 receiving yards during their historic careers.

While fans look to the past for inspiration, owner Jerry Jones recently addressed the team’s current options on 105.3 The Fan.

“The door is always open to get better,” Jones said. “I know that’s almost a cliché. But if the right—I’m never shut down from trying to get something that would really advance the needle… I am willing to put some things out there that are for today, lean more for today than three years ago. Well, that’s the future we’re talking about.”

Jones highlighted that any final trade decisions will heavily depend on maximizing their current defensive depth, particularly in the pass rush and secondary.
