Jayson Tatum endorses former teammate Jaylen Brown following rumors

· · 1 min read

Following the move that sent Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks, many assumed there was bad blood between Brown and his former running mate, Jayson Tatum. Tatum, the star for the Celtics, put all of those rumors to rest earlier this week, when speaking about his former teammate on “The Dan Patrick Show.”

“I love that guy,” said Tatum. “We won a championship, we shared All-Star games together. You can’t talk about him without talking about me and vice versa. The success that we had as two young kids growing up in this league, just pushing each other.”

“It’s not like a thing to be sad or upset about; it’s a thing to celebrate, what we were able to do. He’s a tremendous person and player, and I have nothing but respect and wish him the best,” Tatum went on.

While there may not be any hard feelings between Brown and Tatum, Brown, the former No. 3 overall pick in 2016, has used the trade as motivation to come out even stronger during the 2026-27 season after finishing sixth in MVP voting a year ago.
