JAMB, WAEC fix WASSCE result verification fee at N4,000

· · 1 min read

The arrangement is expected to reduce cases where candidates are subjected to multiple verification procedures after their results have already been authenticated.

It is also intended to lessen the financial and logistical burden associated with repeated checks of the same academic record.

The policy effectively introduces a one verification, multiple uses approach, under which candidates pay N4,000 once and the verified result can subsequently be used by the relevant institution during the admission process.

Previously, candidates could face different stages of result verification involving JAMB, examination bodies and individual tertiary institutions. This sometimes resulted in additional costs and repeated visits to CBT centres or institutions.

The new system seeks to centralise the process and ensure that institutions rely on results already verified through the JAMB platform.

JAMB and WAEC said the collaboration would also strengthen the integrity of candidates’ academic records and help reduce the use of fake, altered or unverified O’Level results during admission processing.

The development comes as candidates continue to process admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session, with O’Level results remaining a key requirement for admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions.

The two bodies advised candidates to complete the verification through the approved JAMB platform and keep their verification details for future reference during the admission process.
