Jalen Brunson on Knicks' Game 4 comeback: 'There's nothing to celebrate'

· · 1 min read

If the New York Knicks actually pull out an NBA Finals win, it’s because of the stoic demeanor of superstar guard Jalen Brunson.

After the team’s historic Game 4 comeback win at home against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, Brunson chose to recognize the actual moment his team is in rather than get too amped off the victory.

When speaking to reporters, Brunson delivered the kind of answer that should actually give New York fans hope that the Knicks can close out this series and not blow the 3-1 lead.

“There’s nothing to celebrate,” Brunson told reporters after the win, which… yes! There is nothing to celebrate yet!

While the fans can and should revel in such an amazing comeback, the Knicks still have to win one more game to take the NBA championship. That’s much easier said than done. With the series going back to San Antonio and the Spurs undoubtedly bitter about ruining such a perfect moment on Wednesday night, they’ll be ready to fight back.

If New York gets too cocky off one win, the team may not get another one. Brunson’s approach is a refreshing pushback to the jubilation; he’s saving his celebrating for when the job is actually done. Good on him.

When is Game 5?

Saturday evening in San Antonio.
