Jadon Sancho linked with a sensational move to Dubai’s third-tier

While the summer transfer window might have officially slammed shut following Tuesday’s 11pm deadline, Jadon Sancho remarkably still remains a free agent.

Yet to find a new club after leaving Manchester United following the expiry of his contract back in June, the England international is still waiting for a new adventure.

However, in what would certainly prove to be a remarkable destination, The Mirror are reporting that a potential move to Dubai has been discussed.

Currently under the guidance of one-time Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, third-tier outfit Arabian Falcons have reportedly approached Sancho’s representatives over what would be a sensational swoop for the former Borussia Dortmund starlet.

While the 26-year-old might have arrived at Old Trafford back in the summer of 2021 for a record-breaking fee of £73million, Sancho drastically failed to make any kind of impact and is widely regarded as one of the worst signings United have made in the modern era.

Spending the last three consecutive campaigns on loan at Dortmund, Chelsea and Aston Villa, the 23-cap international had not made a single Premier League appearance for Man United since way back in August 2023.

Although United might have held the option to extend Sancho’s stay at Old Trafford by a further season, they refused to trigger that clause and were happy to allow the misfiring attacker to leave on a free.

Alongside a potential blockbuster move for Sancho, The Mirror’s report also suggests that the Falcons are eyeing a number of free agent superstars.

Reportedly keen on offering a host of European icons the chance to maintain their fitness, both Raheem Sterling and Paul Pogba have also been linked with a move to the Middle East.

With the Dubai-based outfit filled with notable British figures, they have already recruited ex-Crystal Palace star Jason Puncheon as a co-owner and have former Premier League winner Danny Simpson as their Head of Operations.
