Ivanka Trump reveals family member was in attendance for New York Knicks NBA Championship parade

The Knicks’ championship parade was always going to be star-studded. Former players, actors and musicians all helped turn Thursday’s celebration into a wider New York moment.

Walt Frazier, Timothee Chalamet and Fat Joe were among the names there, while politicians and other public figures also appeared along the route.

Donald Trump was not there, although he became part of the Finals conversation after attending the Knicks’ only loss of the series at Madison Square Garden. Still, his family had a presence.

Ivanka Trump revealed that her son, Theodore James, was among those celebrating the Knicks’ first championship in 53 years.

Theodore is one of Donald Trump’s 11 grandchildren, and his appearance added another political connection to a parade already filled with public figures.

Ivanka wrote on X: “I grew up a Knicks fan. Today, I got to watch my son celebrate a championship parade that generations of New Yorkers waited a lifetime to see! What a day for NY and every Knicks fan!”

The parade also brought several prominent politicians into the spotlight.

New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani was one of the most visible figures, appearing on the float and later speaking at City Hall.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also drew attention after discussing her favourite Knicks players, while New York governor Kathy Hochul was spotted during the celebrations.

That political presence matched the scale of the day.
