It's basketball season again

Nothing in the world smells quite like popcorn at the concessions stand at a small-town high school gym during basketball season.

The sounds of small-town high school basketball are unique. Cheers bounce off the walls and ceilings of small gyms, and those cheers are louder because the fans aren’t just yelling for their team, but also their own kids.

The season is just beginning, but fans will fill the seats until their teams post a final loss, or, hopefully, lift that championship trophy over their heads.
