The Golden State Warriors will be facing the Los Angeles Lakers to open their season, and the main question surrounding the team is: Will Stephen Curry play? During an open practice, Curry suffered a non-contact injury, and though he wanted to give the fans a sign that he was okay, he ended up walking back to the locker room. The fans held their breath, but after practice, head coach Steve Kerr noted that he was fine.

The next day, Curry was a full participant at practice, and Kerr said that he would be good to go against the Lakers. At the same time, he’s still listed on the injury report, and it won’t be official until he takes the floor.

Here is Curry’s injury status heading into the season opener.

Stephen Curry’s injury status vs. Lakers

Curry is listed as probable against the Lakers, which means it’s highly likely he plays. That’s good news for the Warriors, as they don’t want to be without their ace already. This team will go as far as Curry takes them, and he gives them the best chance to win whenever he’s on the court.

The Warriors are already dealing with a few injuries to their key players. Of course, Jimmy Butler is still rehabbing from his ACL injury last year, and there’s no telling when he’ll be back on the court. Kristaps Porzingis is still dealing with the illness that he’s had for the last few years. The Warriors don’t know when he’ll return, and Porzingis doesn’t know either.

The most recent player is Brandin Podziemski, who has been ruled out with low back soreness.

That means the Warriors will have to roll with what they have, and Curry will be looked upon to lead the group.
