Is Pat Freiermuth playing today? Steelers injury update for Week 6
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth was a late add to the team’s Week 6 injury report Saturday with a calf injury that left him with a questionable designation. As of Sunday morning, however, he appears to be trending in the right direction.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Steelers are optimistic about Freiermuth’s chances to play in their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Freiermuth is coming off his best game of the season last week against the Colts, where he caught five of seven targets for 44 yards and two touchdowns. His four receiving touchdowns on the season lead the team, doubling the injured Roman Wilson as the next closest player.
Freiermuth has been a starting-quality tight end all year and warrants another start against the Bucs, who have allowed the ninth-most points to tight ends on the season.
