Iran: Trump slams US senate, Republican lawmakers over war powers resolution

Unites State President Donald Trump has slammed the Senate for its endorsement of a war powers resolution that instructs him to cease any military actions against Iran.

This resolution has already been approved by the House of Representatives and has been attempted several times in the Senate, but has never succeeded until now.

This time, it passed due to the support of four Republicans who sided with the Democrats. One Democrat aligned with the Republicans, while two Republicans were absent.

Essentially, the resolution stipulates that the United States cannot engage in war with Iran without Congressional approval.

Currently, the US is engaged in peace negotiations with Iran, indicating that there are no immediate indications of military action.

Trump wrote on X, “I have Iran on the ‘ropes,’ ready to fall, willing to concede practically anything, and for the first time in decades, showing great respect for the United States and its President, ME, yet the U.S. Senate opts for a poorly timed and insignificant War Powers Act Vote.”

He further stated that the resolution tells “the Number One Sponsor of Terror in the World that the United States disapproves of my actions against them, compelling me to halt, thereby providing aid and comfort to the Enemy.”

The president also criticized the four Republican senators who voted alongside the Democrats to pass the resolution, asserting: “These Senators have just complicated my efforts, but I will accomplish my goals, one way or another, because I always achieve my objectives!”
