Ipswich Town have announced the return of Julio Enciso, who has joined on a permanent deal from Strasbourg.

Enciso, who spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan with the Tractor Boys, has signed a five-year deal at Portman Road following a reported £26m (€30.5m) move.

The 22-year-old scored two goals and provided three assists in 13 Premier League games for Ipswich during his previous spell, but could not prevent them from being relegated.

Meanwhile, for Strasbourg last season, Enciso directly contributed to 21 goals (12 goals, nine assists), bettered only by Joaquin Panichelli (24).

“I am so happy to be back at Ipswich Town,” said Enciso, who scored for Paraguay at the 2026 World Cup.

“I really enjoyed my time on loan at the club, and I was so happy to see them win promotion back to the Premier League last season.

“I worked with the manager in France last season, and the chance to play for him again at a great club like Ipswich is one I’m very excited for.

“I can’t wait to see the supporters again.”

Enciso was not the only arrival at Ipswich from Strasbourg, who were coached by Gary O’Neil last season, as Abdoul Ouattara also joined on a five-year deal.

The 20-year-old made 45 appearances for Strasbourg last term, helping them finish eighth in Ligue 1 and reach the semi-finals of the Conference League.

Ipswich begin their return to the Premier League by hosting Sunderland on August 22.
