· · 1 min read

Oyo State Government on Monday demolished a market at Mobil, along Ring Road in Ibadan, the state capital.

The state government said the market has become a hideout for criminal activities.

This came seven days after the government demolished a three-bedroom bungalow in Lako, a community along the Aiyegun-Anaye road in Ibadan.

The demolition followed allegations that the property was used as a hideout by suspected kidnappers who abducted the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her children.

Meanwhile, the state government warned landlords, housing agents and residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their vicinities.

It reiterated its continuous commitment to zero-tolerance policy against insecurity.

Recall that bandits attacked the state recently and kidnapped scores of schoolchildren and teachers. One of the teachers was subsequently killed in captivity.

As of the time of filing this report, the abductees are still held by the bandits.
