Insecurity: Nigerian govs squander security votes on parties, women – Primate Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Tuesday revealed that Nigerian governors are part of the problems of insecurity in Nigeria because they don’t do anything to curb it.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele referred to the security votes governors receive, noting that they spend the money on frivolities instead of making good use of it.

The prophet made it known that President Bola Tinubu has increased the allocations that go to the governors monthly, and it is sad that most of them don’t know more than accumulating wealth, spending money on parties and endorsements instead of actually securing the people.

“Our governors in Nigeria spend security votes on things that don’t make any sense. They spend it on party and young girls instead of securing the people that voted for them.

“To be sincere, governors are now making more money than ever in Tinubu’s government, but ordinary citizens don’t feel it positively,” he said.

The prophet explained that it won’t cost them so much to purchase police vehicles, noting that a governor that says he doesn’t have any power on security is bad.

“How much will it cost them to buy vehicles helicopter for police to fight banditry? We should question them because Tinubu has satisfied these governors by giving them a lot of money so how can a governor say he doesn’t have power to control security? He is a bad governor.”

Also, the prophet called for a scrutiny of how the funds are being spent by the governors.

“The security votes must be scrutinize; how are they spending it, how many police stations have they built? A lot of these governors will go to hell; they are very ungrateful.

“These governors are not adding value to the voters. They are not even doing the necessary things; they are only making money,” he added

Furthermore, Primate Ayodele stated that Tinubu alone shouldn’t be blamed for insecurity, noting that governors who are getting paid to secure the people should also receive a share of the blame.

“Before this happened, we have warned about it well, so when all these are going on, we know Nigeria is in a mess. Put the blame on the governor where kidnapping is happening in his state,” he said.
