INEC Intensifies Voter Registration Awareness In Ebonyi Ahead Of July 26 Deadline

​As the deadline for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise approaches, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ebonyi State has launched an intensive public enlightenment campaign across key commercial hubs in the Abakaliki metropolis.

​The sensitisation drive was led by the Head of Department for Voter Education and Publicity, INEC, in Ebonyi State, Victor Oko.

The outreach team targeted high-traffic transportation and trade centres, including the Abakaliki Rice Mill, Kpirikpiri Market, and major transit hubs within the International Motor Park, such as Spera-in-Deo, God is Good Motors (GIGM), Peace Mass Transit, and Romchi Park.

​Speaking during the exercise, Oko urged all eligible citizens to maximise the remaining days to complete their registration before the deadline on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

​To accommodate the rush, physical registration centres are fully operational at all 13 INEC Local Government Area offices and the INEC State Headquarters in Abakaliki. These centres are open daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, including weekends.

​Additionally, INEC highlighted the full deployment of its online registration portal to ease the process. Citizens can now initiate and complete their voter registration remotely by visiting CVR.inecnigeria.org using a smartphone, tablet, or computer, provided they have a valid National Identification Number (NIN).

​The commission emphasised that acquiring a voter’s card remains the primary tool for civic participation, reminding residents that “Your voter’s card is your power and your voice in the 2027 General Elections.”
