ICPC submits interim report on controversial PFIPC to Tinubu

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has submitted an interim report to President Bola Tinubu after investigating the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Speaking to State House correspondents after presenting the report, ICPC Chairman Musa Adamu Aliyu said the commission found that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew was not appointed by the Presidency.

President Tinubu had ordered the investigation on July 7 following questions over the existence of the council and directed the ICPC to submit its findings within 30 days.

Aliyu said the investigation showed that “Adeyemi Matthew was never appointed by the federal government or any authority of government.”

He also said the commission found that the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council “was never established by any law or executive order or other instrument of government.”

He added that: “The appointment letter presented by Adeyemi Matthew was completely forged alongside similar documents used to perpetuate the illegal activities of the fake agency.”
