Arijon Ibrahimovic has extended his contract with Bayern Munich until 2028 and is set to be fully integrated into Vincent Kompany’s first-team squad for the 2026-27 campaign.

Ibrahimovic has been on three separate loan spells since 2023 with Frosinone, Lazio and Heidenheim, but he is now being given the chance to fight for his place at Bayern.

The 20-year-old impressed with Heidenheim during the 2025-26 campaign, registering seven goal contributions (two goals, five assists) in 34 outings across all competitions.

He ended the campaign with a team-high total number of chances created (59) and successful dribbles (24), but it was not enough to retain Heidenheim’s Bundesliga status.

“Arijon joined Bayern when he was twelve. He has progressed step by step through our campus and targeted loan spells,” the club’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, said.

“In the last year at Heidenheim in particular, he has learned a lot personally to be ready for Bayern. His development is a great example of the opportunities we offer our talents.

“Now it’s no longer only about learning – it’s about making his mark here at Bayern.”

FC Bayern plans to have Arijon Ibrahimović in the first-team setup for the new season ahead!

Ibrahimovic has already made two appearances for Bayern, making his Bundesliga debut as a 77th-minute substitute during a 3-0 win over Bochum three years ago.

He became the second-youngest debutant for the record Bundesliga champions, only behind Paul Wanner at the time.

The forward’s renewal comes after Bayern completed deals for Ismael Saibari from PSV and left-back Nathaniel Brown from fellow Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Noel Aseko has also joined from Hannover, but one player on their way out is goalkeeper Alexander Nubel, who agreed to join Besiktas on Tuesday.

Nubel, who has been on loan at Stuttgart since 2023, leaves after spending six years with Bayern. He made 206 appearances in all competitions, winning four major honours.
