‘I will destroy you’ – El-Rufai’s son, Bashir publicly threatens elder brother, Bello

The rift between Bashir El-Rufai and his elder brother, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, sons of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, appears not to be over, as Bashir has again threatened to destroy the lawmaker.

DAILY POST reports that Bashir took to his X handle on Saturday to attack his elder brother, who represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, accusing him of abusing drugs.

Although the exact cause of the dispute has not been ascertained, it may not be unconnected with Bello’s political choices, particularly in Kaduna State.

In a more recent post, Bashir publicly threatened to destroy his brother, saying, “I will destroy you & climb my bed and sleep peacefully.”

Disturbed by the post, a politician, Uche Rochas, stormed the comment section to caution Bashir against making such a threat against his own brother.

“If you destroy your brother, no one will see you as a hero. The more you try to destroy him, the more you destroy yourself and drag your family’s name through the mud.

“If you need someone to talk to, I am here,” he said in his reply to Bashir’s post.

Responding, Bashir wrote, “Sorry sir. Had to be said.”

Another X user, Dr Ibrahim Yaji, condemned Bashir for threatening to destroy the lawmaker.

“I kept telling my friend earlier that the joke is on Bashir. I can never trust anybody who can do this to his own blood.

“Even if my sibling kills my child, I won’t destroy him like this. No, my parents didn’t bring us up this way,” he wrote.

But Bashir quickly dismissed the comment, saying, “That’s you o. And I’m sure you had a good brother.”
