How to Watch: K-State at Colorado

· · 2 min read

Things are looking rocky for our stalwart heros, who take to the Rockies this week to face an old/new nemesis. And they maybe doing it with a third-string signal caller under center.

Ooof. Suffice to say, a loss to the last-place team in the league would be a death knell for Collin Klein’s rookie campaign.

The Game

The Kansas State Wildcats (4-3, 1-3 Big 12) visit the Colorado Buffaloes (2-5, 0-4 Big 12).

Colorado leads the series 45-22-1. The Buffaloes are one of the rare teams to have a winning record against K-State since the beginning of the Bill Snyder era, at 14-10-1 — and that’s with K-State winning two of the three meetings during that timespan without Snyder on the sideline.

Deion Sanders is still in charge at Colorado, despite flagging results and his own health issues. Despite starting his college coaching career with a 27-6 record in three years at Jackson State, his career mark is now 45-32, having gone 18-25 in Boulder. He did bring a share of the 2024 title home, but the Buffs have only gone 1-12 in conference play since then.

Colorado is a mid-level team in passing yards per game, but they’re near the bottom of the nation in rushing and scoring offense. Those are good things for K-State. Their pass defense is atrocious while their run defense is middling; we frankly don’t know whether that’s good or bad because we don’t even know who’s starting at quarterback for the Cats yet.

Kickoff

Saturday, October 31, 1:00pm CT at Folsom Field (50,183) in Boulder, Colorado.

Tickets

You can get in the door for $18 if you’re in the area, via third-party vendors; there are seats for under $50 low on the Wildcat sideline. Median cost overall is $55.

Weather

It’ll be a bit chilly for pregame, with morning temps under 50°. It’ll be partly cloudy all day, with the temperature rising to the mid-50s by kickoff and reaching the daily high of 60° at game’s end. It’ll be raining first thing in the morning, but precipitation chances should fall to under 5% by pregaming time.

Odds

Per our friends at DraftKings K-State is a 3-point underdog with a 46.5 over. Math says 25-22 Colorado. Money line is +130 for K-State, -155 for Colorado.

Television

TNT with J.B. Long, Mike Golic Jr., and Jared Greenberg.

Radio

As always, Wyatt Thompson, Stan Weber, and Matt Walters will be on hand on the K-State Sports Network as well as via satellite on SiriusXM 265.

Internet Streaming

The game will stream on HBO MAX (subscription required). Audio available via kstatesports.com. Live stats provided by StatBroadcast.
