After a frustrating loss to Notre Dame at Lambeau Field to begin the season, the Badgers were able to pick up a win over Western Illinois. The team got a 36-9 victory over the Leathernecks. The Badgers got out early with a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and took a 23-6 lead into halftime. Abu Sama stood out in the win. He had eight carries for 107 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Eastern Michigan is 1-2 on the season. The two losses have come from bigger name programs. After a 28-17 win against Sacramento State, the Eagles lost 27-21 to the San Jose State Spartans. Eastern Michigan played another Big Ten school last Saturday in Michigan State. In the team’s 35-7 loss, it kept things close in the first half. Down just 14-7 when the third quarter began, the Eagles were outscored 21-0 in the second half.

In the most recent meeting in 2021, Wisconsin beat Eastern Michigan 34-7. It marked the fourth straight time that Wisconsin had won by 15 or more points.
