Former Florida State standout pitcher Parker Messick had a great outing in the win, throwing six innings, striking out nine batters, and giving up just two earned runs.

The Astros, meanwhile, are coming off a series victory over the Detroit Tigers, losing game one 9-3 before winning game two 4-2 and game three 4-2. In Wednesday’s win over Detroit, Houston was led by star shortstop Jeremy Peña, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBIs. Starting pitcher Peter Lambert threw seven strong innings, striking out five, walking none, and giving up just two hits and one earned run.
