For quarterback Brock Purdy, adding a legendary perimeter threat like Evans provides an entirely new dimension. Shanahan’s system relies heavily on motion, scheme-created space, and intermediate rhythm throws. But when opposing defenses load the box to stifle the run or drop safety help inside to blanket crossers, Evans becomes the ultimate counterpunch.

At 6-foot-5 with a Hall of Fame resume, Evans forces defensive coordinators into a brutal tactical dilemma: leave him isolated on the outside at their own peril, or pull defensive help away from the line of scrimmage, opening massive lanes for the rest of San Francisco’s playmakers.
